For over 100 years, Temple has provided members and visitors with a world of unparalleled beauty, inspiration, character and all in an uncrowded setting.
The chalk downland course was designed by the 1887 and 1889 Open Champion Willie Park Jr. and to this day the spirit of his 'inland links' course is maintained. With stunning views over Marlow and the Thames Valley providing a picturesque backdrop for the challenging 18 holes of golf.
Temple is a progressive club and mixes 100 years of history with a modern approach to membership. Lifestyle membership at Temple offers an affordable, flexible, inclusive and family-friendly membership for today's golfer. In addition and for those who enjoy competition golf, many of our weekday and weekend competitions are open to ladies and men.

“Thank you to Temple from everyone who felt the day had been good. The course was much enjoyed and everyone thought the greens were very impressive. The catering was excellent and the staff and service first class.”
Graham Pattie (The Wargrave First Thursday Club) – September 2018
“Thank you so much for everything at the AGM last Sunday and all Temple does for Archie and Finlay. They were both very chuffed with their amazing crystal trophies. They did not know so it was a lovely surprise. They were over the moon. Send my thanks to everyone and see you hopefully next week at skills in the course. Many thanks Emma”
Emma Smith (Mother of junior members Archie and Finlay Creffield) – November 2017
“Francis, I just wanted to say thank you for the Mother’s Day lunch last Sunday. Firstly for squeezing us in at the last minute but also for how welcome you made my parents feel. They really enjoyed the Temple experience – you put them entirely at ease and also delivered an exceptional service. In fact, my mum has already informed me that we will be attending again next year!”
Darren Damiano – March 2019
“In the very short time we have been members, we have really enjoyed our golf and the very friendly and welcoming atmosphere of the Club. We invited a few guests from the Midlands recently and they also liked the friendliness of the staff in the bar and were very impressed with the condition of the course & greens. Looking forward to a long and enjoyable future at Temple and I am certain it will improve my golf in the long term. “
Steve Smith (New Bronze member) – May 2018
” I would like to express my thanks to all those who contributed to making my Captain’s Day a real success. From Stan, Matthew and yourself, Liam and colleagues, Francis and Rowena, George and Jackie, Michael and Arron in the Pro Shop, in fact, all Temple staff. Having a Starter welcome us to the Club was a nice touch. My colleagues were all impressed, as expressed to me, with the quality of the course, the BBQ food and friendly professionalism of the staff. Would you please pass on my sincere thanks to what was clearly a memorable day, that did Temple Golf Club proud.”
Nick Middle (The Berkshire GS) – July 2019
“We had a great evening recently when 25 of us sat down to a delicious dinner. With a choice of 4 dishes per course everyone was able to select their own dish which naturally meant a lot of preparation for each person as we all had different dishes!. It was all beautifully presented and very very tasty!! Well done Liam and team. We were very ably served and looked after all evening by Francis and his very attentive staff. We shall be back and I shall be grateful if you will convey our thanks and congratulations to all those concerned on the night.”
David de Bromhead (Dinner Organiser) – August 2018
” Hi Keith and team, Thank you to Team Temple for the fantastic golf day. As always the hospitality and golf were excellent and everyone had a great time.”
Al Whitaker (Organiser) Spinfield School Golf Day – June 2019
“We wanted to say thank you very much to you and the whole team at Temple for allowing us hold Grace’s christening reception at the Club on Saturday 8 February. The welcome everyone received was fantastic and all of the guests were amazed by the room and views. I would recommend hosting events at the Club to anyone. Also, please pass on our thanks to Liam for putting on some great food. And to Francis for all his help and being so accommodating. We really enjoyed the day.”
Gemma and Ben Waters – February 2020
“Please thank Liam, Francis and their staff for the most excellent Carpe Diem Christmas lunch yesterday. We were very well looked after and the lunch was extremely good value. The starters were particularly appreciated. We all left very satisfied.”
Keith Whittle – December 2018
“Recently our “Boyz Lunch club” had a spectacular meal at Temple. Liam really did us proud with a fine dining menu that included lobster, fillet steak and chocolate souffle which exceeded the best to be found anywhere within a 50 mile radius. No exaggeration !! Our party of 5 dined in a screened off part of the Willie Park Jr. Room and enjoyed lunch accompanied by that fantastic outlook over the course. In any decent local eatery one would be talking £60-£80 per head without wine. The Temple price was an absolute bargain. Please pass our thanks to Liam, Francis and their respective teams.”
