A blind tee shot represents the start point for this long and searching par 4. Do not be too greedy here as there is an Out of Bounds hazard on the left of the hole whilst severe meadow rough lies in wait on the right. The likely mid iron approach is to a difficult reverse two tiered and raised green with a very steep bank rising off the back.

Pro's Tip

"The top class tee shot is up the right-hand side with a touch of right to left draw. Good club selection for your approach shot is essential as putting down from the upper tier to the lower is a somewhat precarious experience and one that requires a finely honed and very deft touch."

"Apart from the weather (a minor consideration despite the incessant rain which gradually increased towards the end of the round) this was a great day. The course was fantastic and the greens were in great condition despite the rain. The Secretary and all the staff were very accommodating to the point that coffee and biscuits were delivered to the changing room after the round – a welcome sight to 15 bedraggled golfers. The meal and setting was one of the best we have enjoyed and it was unanimously agreed to come again in the summer when good weather could be anticipated!”
