When viewed from the white tee, copses of trees on either side of the fairway combined with rough on the right-hand side of the hole give the impression of a fairly narrow landing area. However, from the yellow and red tees the driving area seems much more inviting. Once the fairway has been found, most golfers will be left with a mid to short iron approach to a severely contoured green which slopes down from front to back and right to left.

Pro's Tip

"From the white tee an accurate tee shot aimed at the left half of the fairway is the key to success on this tough par 4."

"Apart from the weather (a minor consideration despite the incessant rain which gradually increased towards the end of the round) this was a great day. The course was fantastic and the greens were in great condition despite the rain. The Secretary and all the staff were very accommodating to the point that coffee and biscuits were delivered to the changing room after the round – a welcome sight to 15 bedraggled golfers. The meal and setting was one of the best we have enjoyed and it was unanimously agreed to come again in the summer when good weather could be anticipated!”
